Why Choose Us

Why Hamilton trusts us with car servicing

  • Basic or full, matched to the schedule

We service to your vehicle's actual schedule rather than a one-size menu, so you are not paying for items your car does not need yet, and not skipping the ones it does.

  • Petrol and diesel under one roof

Most workshops lean one way. We run manufacturer-level diagnostics for both, and we are the Hamilton workshop other garages send their diesel problems to.

  • WOF in the same visit

We are a WOF-authorised MTA workshop, so a service and a warrant can be booked together and picked up together, with same-visit repairs on most fails.

  • A report, not a mystery invoice

Every service comes back with a written report on what was done and what we found. Anything beyond the agreed service is discussed with you first.

  • Twenty years on Kahikatea Drive

Same Frankton workshop, same team, servicing cars, utes, vans and fleets across Hamilton and the Waikato for over two decades.

How It Works

Simple, transparent process

  1. 01

    Book your service

Call (07) 847 3339 or use the contact form. Tell us the vehicle and rough mileage, and we will confirm whether a basic or full service is due and book you in, with a WOF added if you want both done at once.

  2. 02

    Inspect and scan

The vehicle goes over the hoist for a proper underbody, brake, steering and suspension check, and we run a fault-code scan with manufacturer-level tools before touching anything.

  3. 03

    Service to schedule

Oil and filter are changed with the specified grade, fluids topped up, and schedule items like air filters, plugs and fuel filters replaced where your vehicle's interval calls for them.

  4. 04

    Road test and report

A road test confirms everything is right, then you collect the car with a written report covering the work done, anything we spotted, and when the next service is due.

Everything you should know about car servicing

A workshop perspective on what's involved, how we run the job, and what shapes the final cost.

What a proper car service actually covers

Plenty of places will change your oil. A proper service is more than that: it is the one time your car is over a hoist in front of someone whose job is to notice things, and that inspection is where the real value sits.

At our Frankton workshop a service always includes the oil and filter change with the manufacturer-specified grade, fluid checks and top-ups, a battery and charging test, a brake, tyre, steering and suspension check over the hoist, and a fault-code scan with manufacturer-level diagnostic tools rather than a generic reader. On a full service we add the schedule items your vehicle is actually due, which depending on the interval can mean air and cabin filters, spark plugs and fuel filters.

The difference between a basic and a full service is not upselling, it is your vehicle's service schedule. A car that had its full service last time usually only needs a basic one this time. We check the history and the mileage, tell you which is due, and quote it before any work starts.

Petrol, diesel and everything in between

Most Hamilton workshops lean one way. We are genuinely set up for both: petrol hatchbacks, hybrids, European diesels, Japanese imports, and the diesel utes and 4WDs that make up half the Waikato's driveways, Hilux, Ranger, Triton, Navara, BT-50 and the rest.

Diesel is our specialty. We are the workshop other garages send their diesel fuel injection and turbocharger problems to, which means a routine diesel service here comes with eyes that know what early injector, DPF and turbo trouble looks like. Catching those early during a service is dramatically cheaper than meeting them later as a breakdown.

Service and WOF in one visit

We are a WOF-authorised MTA workshop, so the most popular booking we take is a service and warrant together. The two inspections overlap heavily, one visit covers both, and if the WOF turns up a fail item we can usually repair it the same day rather than sending you away with a checklist.

What a car service costs in Hamilton

We quote every service individually against your vehicle's schedule, and we confirm the price with you before any work starts. What it comes to depends on:

  • Basic or full service - whether your mileage puts you at an oil-and-inspection service or a schedule service with filters and plugs due
  • Oil type and capacity - a small petrol engine on a common grade costs less to service than a large diesel on a specialised low-ash oil
  • Schedule items due - air filters, cabin filters, spark plugs and fuel filters are added only when your vehicle's interval calls for them
  • Anything the inspection finds - discussed with you first, never added quietly to the invoice

Call (07) 847 3339 with your rego and we will tell you what your vehicle is due and what it will cost. If budget is tight, we are also a WINZ-approved workshop and can provide formal quotes for Work and Income.

Hamilton and Waikato coverage

The workshop is on Kahikatea Drive in Frankton, a few minutes off the Hamilton ring road. Service work comes in from across the city and the wider Waikato: commuter cars from Hillcrest, Rototuna, Chartwell and Te Rapa, utes and vans from Cambridge, Te Awamutu and Morrinsville, and fleet vehicles from Huntly, Ngaruawahia and out toward Raglan.

The workshop is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Book by phone on (07) 847 3339 or through the contact form, and if you want the WOF done in the same visit, just say so when you book.

FAQs

Common Questions

Everything you might want to know before booking.

How much does a car service cost in Hamilton?

It depends on the vehicle and whether it is due a basic or a full service. A basic oil-and-filter service on a common petrol car costs considerably less than a full service on a diesel ute with filters and plugs due. We quote every service for your specific vehicle before any work starts, so call (07) 847 3339 with your rego and we will give you a straight answer.

What is the difference between a basic service and a full service?

A basic service covers the engine oil and filter change, fluid top-ups, and a safety check over the vehicle. A full service adds the schedule items your vehicle is due, which can include air and cabin filters, spark plugs, fuel filters and a more detailed inspection. Which one your car needs depends on its mileage and service history, and we confirm that when you book.

How often should I get my car serviced?

As a general guide, every 10,000 to 15,000 kilometres or once a year, whichever comes first, with diesels and hard-working vehicles often on shorter intervals. Your handbook has the exact schedule, or call us with the rego and we will look it up.

How long does a car service take?

A basic service is usually done within a couple of hours, and a full service most of a morning or afternoon depending on the schedule items due. If we find something that needs discussion, we call you before doing anything beyond the agreed service.

Can I get a WOF at the same time as a service?

Yes. We are a WOF-authorised workshop, so a service and warrant are commonly booked together. It is the most efficient way to do both, because the service inspection and the WOF inspection overlap and most WOF fails can be repaired in the same visit.

Do you service diesel vehicles?

Yes, diesel is our specialty. We are Hamilton's diesel fuel injection and turbocharger specialists, so diesel utes, vans and 4WDs are a large part of the workshop's daily work, alongside petrol and hybrid vehicles.

Do you offer WINZ-approved quotes for car servicing and repairs?

Yes. We are a WINZ-approved workshop and can provide formal written quotes to submit to Work and Income if a repair is creating financial pressure. Call (07) 847 3339 and we will sort the paperwork with you.
